You booked a cleaning. Now you are wondering: should I clean before the cleaner comes? Should I hide things? What do I do with the dog?

Here is what actually helps, what does not matter, and what to expect if it is your first time having someone clean your home.

You do not need to clean before we come

Seriously. That is what we are here for. If you find yourself wiping counters the night before, stop. You are paying for that work. Let us do it.

The only exception: if there is clutter blocking surfaces. We clean surfaces, not organize belongings. If the kitchen counter is covered in mail and bags, we cannot wipe it.

What actually helps

Clear the counters. Kitchen and bathroom. Move loose items into a drawer or basket. This lets us clean the full surface.

Pick up clothes and toys off the floor. We vacuum and mop floors. If the floor is covered, we cannot do that properly. A quick five-minute pickup is all it takes.

Tell us about fragile or sentimental items. We are careful, but we cannot know what is irreplaceable unless you tell us.

Let us know about the pets. We love animals. But if your dog gets anxious around strangers, or your cat likes to dart out open doors, tell us ahead of time.

What does not matter

The state of your home. We have seen everything. Stained grout, soap scum buildup, kitchens that have not been deep cleaned in years. That is the job. No judgement.

Dishes in the sink. We do not do dishes. If the sink is clear we will scrub it. If it is full, we clean around it. Either way is fine.

First-time cleaning: what to expect

The first clean always takes longer. We are learning your home, hitting buildup that has accumulated, and setting a baseline. After the first visit, regular cleans are faster and more consistent.

If anything was missed or not to your standard, tell us within 24 hours. We come back and fix it. No charge.
